Soul 1st Records: Home
Soul 1st Records just released a new single, titled, "Please", Can You Lend A Helping Hand, that we hope will inspire the world to remember and give back to those less fortunate, especially the homeless and our homeless veterans. The song written by Soul 1st artist, Omar Cunningham and composed by Robert B. Harris, paints a picture of an encounter all too familar to most of us. This ode to the homeless is timeless and musically poignant in its delivery and strength is performed by the Soul1st Family, a collaboration of Soul 1st Artists, Omar Cunningham, Mose Stovall, Vick Allen, Candy Campana and special guest, R&B singer, Tonya Youngblood. The orginal intent was to release the song during this holiday period as a reminder to remember those less fortunuate. Upon seeing a special on homeless veterans on CNN as part of their 'Hero of the Year" series, Soul 1st CEO, Reg McDaniel came up with the idea to donate proceeds from sale of "Please" to organizations that benefit and work with homeless veterans and in particular, the National Alliance For Homeless Veterans and the Stand Down program in Homestead, FL. Proceeds will also benefit homeless shelters in Birmingham, AL, the homebase of Soul 1st Records. We feel this project to give back is the perfect way to end our most successful year as a record company and a way to continue to give back, year after year. Please encourage your local radio stations to support and play "Please Can You Lend A Helping Hand."
And again, thanks to the legions of Southern Soul/R&B fans across the world for making this year unforgettable for Soul 1st Records! Thanks to all the Southern Soul jocks who blaze the airways and the promotions people in our genre of music.
